Title:
Monthly Safety Meeting
Topic:
Angle of Attack Awareness
Date and Time:
Wednesday, October 11, 2023, starting at 12:00 Central Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Craig Patterson (FAASTeam Program Manager, ATP, CFII, MEI, and former FAASTeam Rep and Designated Pilot Examiner)
Brief Description:

General Aviation accidents still happen that indicate some pilots do not have a firm grasp of the concept of angle of attack (AOA) and how important it is to safe flight. AOA is so important that some aircraft have systems designed to automatically reduce angle of attack if it gets close to critical.  FAA Safety Team Program Manager Craig Patterson will present a program to explain AOA, it's importance, and how we can use it to avoid life-threatening accidents -- especially while maneuvering for approach and landing.  What is your system to ensure that you are always at the “right” angle of attack"?
