Title:
Tools and Techniques for Checklist Flows and Flight Configurations
Topic:
Learn and Share Best Practices for Using Checklists and Flows.
Date and Time:
Thursday, July 13, 2023, starting at 17:30 Pacific Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Taylor Jobe
Brief Description:

Using checklists is an integral part of being a pilot.  However, the topic of how to use checklists brings up a number of questions and frequent disagreement among pilots, such as:

  • Do I read the checklist and do it as I go?
  • Or should I use flows and then check?
  • What should I memorize?
  • Should I make my own checklist or use POH?
  • What if I fly different aircraft?

For this meeting, we are going to walk through the phases of flight and discuss different techniques and collective best practices to incorporate Checklists, Flows, and Flight Configuration templates:

  • Pre-Flight
  • Normal Operations
  • Emergency Procedures
  • Post-Flight

Please bring your own techniques and tools and be ready to share them.  You can also email them to Taylor ahead of time and we will do our best to incorporate them.

The goal is for everyone to walk away with at least 1 or 2 practical ideas you can apply to your flying.
