Brief Description:
Join us in our April meeting and learn from an experienced Palm Beach controller! Shane Ahern will cover runway safety and how to prevent landing and departing from the wrong runway and/or taxiway. Shane will also cover traffic advisories and safety alerts. Learn about how controllers can help you prevent low altitude and traffic collisions. Shane will discuss the use of mode C transponders and ADS-B and how controllers use those technologies to give you traffic alerts.
Shane Ahern is currently an controller at the Palm Beach ATC. He has worked there for 20 years. Previously he was at Montgomery ATC and is a private pilot.

The Boca Raton Pilots Association meeting is free to all. We will start at 6:30PM with pizza, drinks and socializing, followed by our speaker at 7:00 PM. There will be time for questions and answers after our speaker. We meet monthly, the first Wednesday of every month except July, August and December. In December instead of our monthly meeting we hold a holiday event.
