Title:
AirVenture 2023 Forum - E-Z WINGS
Topic:
EZ-WINGS Starting Your Training Off Right
Date and Time:
Wednesday, July 26, 2023, starting at 08:30 Central Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Ron Timmermans
Brief Description:

“WINGS is now E-Z!” will introduce the audience to the WINGS Industry Network and its flagship product “E-Z WINGS”, a smart phone application for easily requesting
or validating WINGS credits toward earning a phase of WINGS.
The WINGS Industry Network is a cooperating group of aviation industry members working in collaboration with the FAASTeam to reduce the number of general aviation accidents by pilot & aviation maintenance technician proficiency training through the FAA WINGS Pilot
Proficiency Program. Although it’s widely known that pilots who earn a phase of WINGS are less likely to be involved in an accident, the number of pilots earning a phase of WINGS remains disappointingly low. Improving the user experience with www.FAASafety.Gov website is tantamount to increasing the number of pilots & AMT’s using the WINGS program.
Previously, pilots realized frustrations trying to log into the website and find appropriate activities & courses for which they should receive credits. Likewise, CFI’s & DPE’s
found it difficult to find and validate credits for pilots with whom they had flown.
The WINGS Industry Network has developed a smart phone/iPad application that quickly logs in the user to www.FAASafety.Gov website, finds the applicable course or activity, and allows the pilot to request credit and the CFI/DPE to validate WINGS credits without getting lost in the website. You will be amazed at how E-Z it is to qualify for a phase of WINGS.
