Brief Description:

Join us at our March meeting for pizza, pilot talk and learn about the potential hazards of midair collisions and near midair collisions (NMAC). Our speaker, Mr. Ciuperger, will emphasize the basic problem areas related to the human causal factors where improvements in pilot education, operating practices, procedures, and improved scanning techniques are needed to reduce midair conflicts.

Registration is NOT required. The Boca Raton Pilots Association meeting is free to all. We will start at 6:30PM with pizza, drinks and socializing, followed by our speaker at 7:00 PM. There will be time for questions and answers after our speaker. 

About our Speaker:
Mr. Ciuperger is a CFI/CFII fixed wing airplane and helicopter pilot. He is a certified law enforcement officer with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office since 2005; currently working in the Aviation Unit.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

An aviation enthusiast who has been studying aeronautics since 2004, Vasile currently owns a Cessna 172.  He has experience in flying a variety of fixed wing aircraft including Cessna 208, 206, 182, 172, Piper Arrow, Cirrus, and Piper Cub Taildragger as well as Remos Light Sport.  He is a commercial instrument-rated helicopter pilot with experience in turbine Bell 429 and 407, Robinson 22 and 44. Vasile’s career highlight also includes serving as a flight instructor at various schools in South Florida.  Most recently he has graduated as a Designated Pilot Examiner with the FAA.

Vasile and his wife, along with his two daughters, moved to Florida from New York/New Jersey in 2004 and consider themselves adopted Floridians.  The love of aviation has drawn him to an airpark in St. Lucie County, Florida where he and his family currently reside and can readily enjoy aviation activities.
