Brief Description:
What makes a good checklist? What is its function? This presentation will take you through the history of checklists and how they came into being to current regulatory applicability. (Can I build my own?) Learn what role the Boeing 299 accident of 1935 played in the development of checklists and the types of checklists used today. Learn how to go about building your own checklist and what items should be included. We will also look at accidents that resulted from failure to follow a checklist and how those accidents could have been prevented. Note that although the content applies to all pilots, the focus will be on Comanche aircraft.
