Each month, the National FAASTeam office develops a "Topic Of The Month". The FPMs and REPs are requested to pass this information during presentations or during other training events. This month's topic is "Transition Training" which has been identified as a safety issue for many years.
Many pilots believe transition training is important for larger, more complicated aircraft but feel additional training is not as important for smaller aircraft. The perception is that they all fly alike, some just a little more responsive than others. We often hear that from pilots who were transitioning to light sport or homebuilt aircraft. Right after the accident!
