SUBJECT
: VFR HELICOPTER SIGHT SEEING OPERATIONS IN THE VICINITY OF GULF SHORES/JACK EDWARDS AIRPORT (JKA).
CANCELLATION: May 1, 2015
The purpose of this Letter to Airmen is to inform all participants of the location of a new helipad 1.6 miles east of JKA airport. This helipad is directly underneath the final approach course to Runway 27 at JKA airport. Helicopters will conduct their operations VFR and will remain at or below 300 feet MSL within 1 mile of JKA airport when arriving and departing the helipad. They will transmit their position and intentions on JKA UNICOM/CTAF (122.7). Helicopters will be conducting VFR sightseeing operations at or below 1,000 feet MSL along the coastline, and will have operating transponders.
Increased Awareness
is advised for all aircraft operating in the vicinity of JKA Airport.
