General Aviation Activity Survey

Have you been invited to participate in the 42nd Annual General Aviation (GA) and Part 135 Activity Survey? This voluntary survey is distributed by mail to a representative sample of GA and on-demand part 135 aircraft owners and operators. Survey participants may complete the survey online or by mail — it takes only about 15 minutes. The survey estimates the size, primary use, and flight hours of the 2019 GA fleet. This information enables the FAA to track the success of our safety initiatives and to better serve the GA community by evaluating a pilot’s access to the equipment and services that they rely on to navigate and fly safely.

Take a Moment for an Aviation Maintenance Safety Tip on ADs

Airworthiness Directives (ADs) are legally enforceable regulations issued by the FAA in accordance with 14 CFR part 39 to correct an unsafe condition in a product (an aircraft, engine, propeller, or appliance). Do you know how to find ADs applicable to your aircraft? Check out this Aviation Maintenance Safety Moment video to see how:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3T2xKGhUug&list=PL5vHkqHi51DS-zCdCFOUyVzUgYlF_0qXK&index=4.

And don’t forget, this Sunday, May 24, is National AMT Day, a day to thank and celebrate all the men and women who keep our aircraft safely flying. You might also want to consider nominating any outstanding AMTs for the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award, which recognizes 50 years of exemplary aviation maintenance experience, distinguished professionalism, and steadfast commitment to aviation safety.
