Do you like to do your own maintenance? Are you aware of just what you can and can’t do? This class is a review of the requirements in FAR Part 91 and 43. We will cover exactly what maintenance you can perform, whether you need oversight, and how to document it correctly.

Maintenance Performed by Owner/Pilot
The following reference allows an owner or pilot to legally perform and approve for return to service the preventive maintenance tasks listed below.
FAR 43.3(g): the holder of a pilot certificate issued under part 61 may perform preventive maintenance on any aircraft owned or operated by that pilot which is not used under part 121, 129, or 135 .
and,
FAR 43.7(f): A person holding at least a private pilot certificate may approve an aircraft for return to service after performing preventive maintenance under the provisions of §43.3(g).
