Title:
CFI Open Forum Open to All Pilots
Topic:
Making the Right Decisions: Risk Management
Brief Description:
How do we teach students Aeronautical Decision Making (ADM) and Risk Management?
Aeronautical Decision Making is a systematic approach to the mental process used by pilots to consistently determine the best course of action in response to a given set of circumstances. In other words, it is a systematic approach to risk assessment and stress management. Sounds easy, right? At this FAASTeam Flight Instructor Open Forum we will explore ADM and how you can teach it to your students to assess risk and manage stress. Flight Instructors, Ground Instructors, Designated Pilot Examiners, and all pilots (including students) are welcome and encouraged to attend. Join your flight instructor colleagues and take an active role in improving safety in flight training! Click on the link below and register TODAY!

This discussion is an opportunity to collaborate and develop best practices, to mitigate the risks identified in the discussion, for both the Instructor and the student. The result can enhance communication and standardization of the pilot training and evaluation processes using Aeronautical Decision Making. How do you teach your students ADM? At this FAASTeam Flight Instructor Open Forum we will explore how you can teach your students to use ADM.
Together as a Team, the Instructors and Designated Pilot Examiners can combine their extensive knowledge and experience with sound judgment to create and provide the most comprehensive and effective pilot training experience, followed by a reliable and effective evaluation.
The FAASTeam would like to thank the Society of Aviation and Flight Educators (SAFE) for their participation and contribution to the CFI Open Forum effort.
