Brief Description:

The Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI) along with the FAA Safety Team will be presenting training required for operating aircraft at high altitudes. The training will include high altitude physiology, aerodynamics and meteorology. At the conclusion of the classroom session, you will be given the opportunity to discover your hypoxia symptoms first hand in CAMI’s portable altitude training system. Additionally, you will be able to experience a little vertigo in CAMI’s spatial disorientation simulator. After all is done, you will be able to leave with an endorsement for having completed the required ground training for operating high altitude aircraft.

Limitations that apply: Only those who posses a valid and current FAA medical certificate, per 14 CFR Part 61.23(d), may use the portable altitude training system. Please bring a valid goverment issued identification containing a photograph.

This SPANS notification is informational only.  Registration is required for participation and accomplished via seperately published WEB-ONLY SPANS announcement for the specific day you wish to attend. Registration available on FAA Safety Website located at http://www.faasafety.gov. for the specific day you desire to attend.

This  event will cover multiple days beginning June 8, 2016 through June 12, 2016. Sixty (60) registrants per day will be available with the capability to accomodate a total of 300 participants over the event schedule. Classroom instruction begins at 9:00AM each day with Simulation sessions beginning at 11:00AM. Simulations will be scheduled for five (5) participants at a time at twenty (20) minute intervals. Simulation time slots will be coordinated daily and assigned at the event on first come, first serve basis beginning at 7:30 AM.
