Brief Description:
At this Flight Instructor Open Forum, we will be discussing techniques and methods of teaching Stalls and Spins including entry, recognition and recovery.  Loss of Control – In flight (LOC-I) is one of the leading causes of fatal General Aviation Aircraft Accidents.  Many LOC-I accidents result in stall/spin fatalities.  As an instructor, by teaching students to become proficient in how to recognize and recover from stalls and spins you are helping to create a safer pilot.  Please click on the link below to register for this event today!

What Instrument will give you accurate spin direction information?  It may not be what you think.  During a spin, how do the angles of attack of the left and right wings compare?  According to the Airplane Flying Handbook, what are the four phases of a spin? How many warning signs can you identify in the accident sequence?  At this seminar, not only will you discuss the answers to these questions and more.

This event provides an opportunity to collaborate and develop best practices, and to mitigate identifiable risks, for both the Instructor and the student. The result is enhanced communication and standardization of the pilot training and evaluation processes and improvements in coping with emergencies.

Together as a Team, the Instructors and Designated Pilot Examiners can combine their extensive knowledge and experience with sound judgment to create and provide the most comprehensive and effective pilot training experience, followed by a reliable and effective evaluation.

The FAASTeam would like to thank the Society of Aviation and Flight Educators (SAFE) for their participation and contribution to the CFI Open Forum effort.

Participation in this meeting does not result in credit for CFI renewal.  However, participation in the WINGS Program as a CFI administering WINGS Pilot Proficiency FLIGHT Credits may qualify for CFI Renewal.  See your FAASTeam Representative for details, or call your FAA Safety Team Program Manager.
