Brief Description:
Continual learning is a key component to aviation safety, your IA career, and for our profession. Our seminar meets the requirements of FAR 65.93 for FAA approved Inspection Authorization Renewal training, is accepted for the 8 hours of renewal IA training, and is eligible for the FAA AMT Awards Program. Come join us for an informative and challenging seminar designed to increase your knowledge in all facets of the inspection process and help you become inspectors that are more informed.

The FAA Aviation Safety Center is located on the SUN ‘n FUN Campus at 4425 SUN ‘n FUN Road, Lakeland, FL 33811.
IF YOU ARE DRIVING:
FROM I-4 take exit 25 and turn on south county line road, continue south for 4.2 miles to medulla road / old medulla road traffic signal. Turn left on medulla and drive 1.75 miles to the front gate at the sun ‘n fun complex. You are now on Doolittle and should continue driving straight-ahead approximately .25 mile to sun ‘n fun road. Turn left and drive approximately .20 mile to laird road and the FAA Aviation Safety Center will be straight ahead on your left. Make a left turn on Laird road and park in the parking lot to the west of the building – please do not park on the grassy areas.
From Highway 60 turn north on county line road, and continue 6.4 miles to medulla road/old medulla road traffic signal. Turn right on medulla and drive 1.75 miles to the front gate at the sun ‘n fun complex. You are now on Doolittle and continue driving straight-ahead approximately .25 mile to sun ‘n fun road. Turn left and drive approximately .20 mile to laird road and the FAA Aviation safety Center will be straight ahead on your left. Make a left turn on Laird road and park in the parking lot to the west of the building – please do not park on the grassy areas.
IF YOU ARE FLYING IN:
Upon arrival at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport, advise ground control you wish to taxi to the sun ‘n fun complex and park at the FAA building. Once you have passed through the security gate, taxi left to the brown building marked FAASTeam National Resource Center and park in the grassy area to the north of the building. The taxiway must remain open for other aircraft.
To depart from the FAASTeam National Resource Center, contact one of our crewmembers and they will go out to open the gate so you can depart the sun ‘n fun campus. Contact ground control before exiting the gate.

Doors will open for collection of required documents, personal verification, and sign-in at 7:00am with the course begining at 8:30am.
Any person not signed in after the course begins will not be given a certificate of completion, but may attend the course nevertheless. Signing in must be accomplished for the morning session and r
e-accomplished for the afternoon session.
Required documents to bring with you are as follows:
- 2 completed FAA Form 8610-1’s (This is the IA holders responsibility to bring with and have completed prior to the course)
- Evidence to prove that the requirements of 14 CFR part 65 section 65.91(c)(1) through (4) continue to be met.
- IA activity sheet for the first year (for persons not using an IA refresher course for credit for the first year)
- IA refresher course completion certificate (for persons without IA activity sheets for the first year)
- Mechanic certificate (with airframe and powerplant endorsement)
- Currently issued IA certificate (FAA Form 8310-5)
- One form of picture identification issued by a U.S. Governmental agency (driver’s license, passport, military ID, etc.)
Failure to have these documents ready for inspection will delay your entry to the course. A Pilots Bill of Rights will be given to the applicant at time of application. Please see the "additional public documents" section for more information

- 11:30am Second session sign-in begins

Itinerary, topics and presenters may change without prior notice. Any person desiring to renew their IA certificate, who has meet all the renewal requirements without this refresher course, may do so after the course begins, but not before 10am. This will not be an opportunity for any mechanic, without an Inspection Authorization already issued, to get approval for testing for such certificate. This must be accomplished through an appointment with your local FSDO.
