This live webinar examines the Task Load vs. Capabilities curve to identify some practical ways in which pilots can improve their safety margin on every flight. A multitude of factors influence both the task load and the capabilities of the pilot. These factors are variable and are constantly in flux. As pilots, we have control over many of these critical elements. This interactive webinar will take a detailed look at how we can identify and positively influence the shape of both curves, thereby improving our safety margin.

In addition to analyzing several accidents, methods to mitigate the various risks will be discussed. Emphasis will be placed on the human factors aspects of the various accidents.
The webinar is produced and sponsored by Bright Spot, Inc. and is presented by FAASTeam Lead Representative Gene Benson. Gene has more than 30 years experience and 8,000 hours dual given as a general aviation flight instructor and has credentials including dean of an aviation college and instructor for a major domestic airline. The webinar lasts approximately one hour fifteen minutes and is worth 1 credit toward the Advanced Phase of the FAA Wings Pilot Proficiency Program. Enrollment is limited the first 1,000 registrants for each session.
The webinar is interactive and can be viewed on either a PC or a Mac. A high speed Internet connection is required. Speakers are required. A microphone is required to participate or ask questions, but not required otherwise. No technical skills are needed. There is no fee for this event.
