About 85 % of aviation accidents are caused by pilot error.  In this program we will examine elements of Aeronautical Decision Making and Single Pilot Resource Management with a focus on risk management and breaking the accident chain.

Our speaker, Michael Phillips, is a seasoned teaching professional with a passion for aviation and all phases of flight instruction.   He will use scenarios to pose situations that can lead to incidents and accidents, inviting participants to share practical approaches to decision making.  This hangar talk is guided and aimed at improving our thinking and our actions each time we fly.

Michael is a Master Instructor and FAA Gold Seal Instructor, with more than 8500 hours and more that 6500 hours dual given.  Based in Southern California as managing partner and chief flight instructor at Aviation Instruction Simulator Training in Camarillo, he is also chief instructor for the Cessna Advanced Aircraft Recurrent Training Program, and is a charter member of the Society of Aviation and Flight Educators.
