Thank you Moody Aviation for once again stepping up to the plate to bring these valuable safety seminars to the pilots of the Inland Empire.

Two full days of seminars are available to pilots, courtesy of Moody Aviation and Mission Safety International (MSI). The event brings together six nationally recognized speakers to discuss human performance, lessons accidents can teach us (if we pay attention), NextGen, CRM, operations in challenging environments, and what it takes to accomplish difficult piloting tasks without injury or loss. A total for 4 FAA WINGS credits can be earned by attending all seminars. The time you invest in these seminars will pay big dividends in your flying career.

Please pre-register on-line for each seminar that you want FAA WINGS Credit. You can pre-register for these seminars by clicking on each of the hot links below. Or, visit FAASafety.gov and search for seminars offered near Spokane Felts Field (KSFF). You must register for each individual seminar to receive WINGS credit. You may also register as a 'walk-in' at the event...  though [truth in advertising] the legibility of your hand writing may affect validation of your WINGS credit ...

Thursday, March 7
0800 - 1200.  Seminar 1:  Jon Egeler is President and CEO of MSI. He has any years of experience flying in Africa and a former staff member of Moody Aviation. Jon will discuss how 'Standards' against which we measure our own professional competence and performance can lift us to greater levels.  Jim Bening was a Designated Pilot Examiner and is currently an FAA Operations Inspector. Jim will discuss what pilots must know about maintenance. Dick Wolf is a Regional Manager and Human Factors focal point for Bombardier Aircraft Training. Dick will introduce the topic of NextGen CRM - with the goal of getting NextGen 'out of the classroom and into the cockpit'.  1 FAA BK1 WINGS credit.

1200-1300  Lunch (sorry, no WINGS credit available)

1300-1530. Seminar 2:  Dick Wolf will complete his discussion of NextGen CRM. Daryl Bussert is the Director of Aviation Safety for JAARS, and is a veteran of 14 years as a missionary pilot in South America. Daryl will discuss what is necessary to work as a pilot in the 'real' world of missionary aviation. He will also dissect a recent accident to show what happened - and why.  1 FAA BK1 WINGS credit.

Friday, March 8
0730-1200.  Seminar 3:  Peter Batske has accumulated a lifetime of experience flying in the bush and in scheduled air service. He has flown in various countries and on many continents. Peter will discuss air transport safety in the developing world where pilots must operate complex aircraft "in the middle of nowhere" with safety and consistency. Stephen Quigg is MSI's Vice-President of Field Services and a veteran of two decades of mission aviation in Africa. Stephen will discuss the need for high-reliability organizations to support high risk operations, such as those found in developing countries around the world. Jon Egeler will return to the podium to wrap up the Friday morning with a discussion of how our mindset affects safe operations.  1 FAA BK1 WINGS credit.

1200-1300 Lunch (sorry, no WINGS credit available)

1300-1600  Seminar 4:  Stephen Quigg returns to the podium to review mission aviation accidents from 2012. He will then lead a group reflection of those "truths" that we learn along the way... and assume are indeed "true" - but may be "myth". Dick Wolf will wrap up Friday afternoon and the two days of presentations that have led up to it. He will discuss workload, task saturation, and how those factors affect the ability of individual pilots and multi-person air crew to make operationally critical - time sensitive decisions.  1 FAA BK3 WINGS credit.
