In attending this seminar, and others like it, you can become part of the FAA Pilot Proficiency Award Program [also known as WINGS] by participating in a recurrent training program. This program was expanded in 2008 and developed for a higher level of safety by employing consistent recurrent training, which has been identified as a major factor in reducing [GA] accident rates.

The program is now web based and developed to present training and track progress. Participation is voluntary and there are no regulation changes. It includes target maneuvers and knowledge areas that are consistently identified as causal factors in accidents.  Build your profile, pick your aircraft categories, and select the level of proficiency desired – Basic, Advanced, or Master. The new system tracks events, when items are due and as you complete elements, the flight and knowledge training credits are posted and available for you to review.

Remember, as part of this seminar program, WINGS is designed to help keep you safe, and by participating and staying WINGS current you maintain a valid Flight Review. We appreciate your participation in this event.

Do You know your limitations? The seminar will also direct your attention the Mid Island Personal Limitations Checklist to help teach [especially new pilots] “situation awareness " through the experiences of other pilots . . . [where they] develop good judgment . . . beyond their own flying experience”.
