If you fly into the Greater Rochester International Airport, then this meeting is a MUST! Effective July 2, 2009, several ramps and taxiways at the Greater Rochester International Airport (GRIA) underwent name changes. In the interest of maintaining the safest airport operational environment possible, it is imperative that all pilots, controllers, and vehicle operators have a clear understanding of the airport operations area. It is also important to know which portions of the airport are considered movement areas (under the control of ATC) and non-movement areas (NOT under the control of ATC).
Using correct phraseology and accepted naming is a critical element of runway safety. Pilots and controllers should work together to eliminate the use of outdated location names. Please see the attached Letter to Airmen (LTA) for all the details.
Featured speakers Joe Hood, FAA Safety Team Lead Representative and Tony Galofaro, FAA Safety Team Representative and ROC Air Traffic Controller will present this interesting and informative briefing. Don't miss it!
Refreshments will be provided by seminar sponsor Artisan Flying Club.
Please park in the Short Term parking lot. At the meeting you will be provided with a voucher from the Greater Rochester International Airport that will reduce your parking fee to $2.00.
