This Wings event is a Workshop to understand, plan and correctly navigate the DC ADIZ and avoid TFRs. The attendee will be provided the information and process needed to confidently use the airspace and avoid errors and violations.  Included will be handout reference material and an interactive case study. Also, FAA Safety Team Manager Guido Hassig will provide a tutorial on using the faasafety.gov website and receiving credit for this event. Virtually everyday a pilot penetrates the District of Columbia Air Defense Identification Zone (DC ADIZ) without a clearance facing likely FAA Violations; Don't let this happen to you! This presentation will provide pilots with an overview of the DC ADIZ and the Flight Restricted Zone (FRZ), which is located in its center.  Procedures for filing DC ADIZ/FRZ flight plans and navigation procedures, including speed restrictions for the following will be discussed.

This Wings event is sponsored by the Syracuse Flying Club, based out of SYR; Landmark Aviation, Syracuse, New York, and Baldwin Hall, Syracuse, New York.

The Syracuse Flying Club will be hosting a barbecue from 12 to 1, prior to the start of the Wings event, at Landmark Aviation for anyone interested in learning more about SFC activities and airplanes.

FAA Safety Team Manager Guido Hassig will be on hand hosting an online clinic to assist pilots with the New WINGs Program! Also, he'll be making a very special Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award to a local aviator celebrating over 50 years of safe flight! Don't miss it!!!!!
