 Many of our pilots find this time of the year the most beautiful time to enjoy a flight across the frozen land. This Pro Tips webinar will be lead by Retired Meteorologist, Professor Fred Remer who will talk about the finer points fo winter weather pre-flight, in flight briefings.

Fred Remer is a retired faculty member from the University of North Dakota. He retired in August 2024 after a combined 32 year career as an Associate Professor of Atmospheric Sciences and an Assistant Professor of Aviation.  He also recently retired as a contract weather observer at the Grand Forks International Airport.

He soloed when he was 16 and holds a Flight Instructor Certificate with airplane single and multi-engine land and instrument endorsements.  He has logged over 4000 hours in piston and turbine aircraft.  He is an active pilot and part owner of a Mooney M20J.

He received his M.S from the Department of Atmospheric Science at the University of Wyoming in the fall of 1989, and his B.S. from the School of Meteorology at the University of Oklahoma in the summer of 1982. 

He was chief meteorologist for Weather Modification, Inc. and a broadcast meteorologist for KXJB TV-4, both located in Fargo, ND.
