Practical Risk Management
Speaker(s):

Brief Description:
Saturday, March 10th, 9:00 - 11:00 AM. The challenge is to make risk management practical and usable. To effectively evaluate hazards, we first have to know what RIGHT looks like! This program is designed to help develop the skill-sets that allow us to detect deviations from the "norm" so that we can intercept and trap errors before they can lead to an accident. This seminar is provided free, and qualifies for ground training credit toward the FAA Pilot Proficiency Program. Please register at FAASafety.gov. Refreshments will be provided.

Additional Event Information & Acknowledgement of Industry Sponsor(s):
Most airmen would agree that risk management is a worthy topic and an important subject. The real challenge is to make the PROCESS of risk management one that is usable and practical. Just because we sit through a seminar about risk management, does not grant us freedom from accidents.
Good judgment exists at the top of a structure that is supported by pillars of knowledge. If those pillars are weak, they won't support judgment. Those pillars are labeled: PAVE, or Pilot, Aircraft, enVironment, and External factors. This program will focus primarily on Pilot and Aircraft knowledge areas. Personnel from the Saint Louis Automated Flight Service Station will also be on hand to discuss changes at the AFSS.
The seminar is being sponsored by Skyline Aeronautics, a FAASTeam Industry Member. It is provided free of charge and is open to all interested individuals. The material presented is applicable to all airmen, student through ATP.
The seminar qualifies for ground training credit toward the FAA Pilot Proficiency Program. Airmen who want credit toward a level of the Pilot Proficiency Program are requested to register for the seminar at this website.
