Title:
Why fly to Livermore when you can fly to Canada?
Topic:
Flying safely across international borders. Situational awareness. Aeronautical Decision Making.
Brief Description:
Have you ever wanted to take a longer trip somewhere...I mean a really long trip, like down to Mexico and Canada? It's really not difficult but you must come prepared, otherwise it can be a nightmare. For example if you do the wrong thing at the border, it could cost you $5,000 even before you know it. Come find out how to avoid incredible headaches or just come to see what it's like to fly in another country. We know our rules (hopefully); it's quite amazing to compare them with another country's regulations.

Additional Event Information & Acknowledgement of Industry Sponsor(s):
Ross Oliver will be our speaker. Ross will share his aviation experience which spans over 17 years. Mr. Oliver will focus his lecture on flying to Canada. He will compare Canadian regulations with US FARs. He will describe his experience flying in the Northwest and he will teach us and give us a step by step procedure to avoid problems at ports of entry and crossing the border. You have heard of DVFR flight plans from your private pilot training. How many of us actually know how to file one, use one and operate internationally? And there is more than that. Did you know some flight service stations are much more proficient at handling international traffic and can much better prepare you for the trip? See you there!
