Whether that out-of-date chart in your flight bag is good enough for you is a personal decision.  However, before you make it, you might want to learn exactly what goes into producing your chart, and why you might want to decide that it is better to have a current one.

Dick Neher is from the FAA Charting Office and will explain some of those little known, but important details about aeronautical charts.  You may want to bring a sectional chart along for reference, and to highlight important things you would like to remember.

The Saint Louis Chapter of the Missouri Pilots Association, a FAASTeam Industry Member, is sponsoring this event and offering it free of charge to all interested individuals.  The MPA will also be providing refreshments to attendees at no charge.

This seminar qualifies for the safety meeting requirement of the FAA Pilot Proficiency Program - WINGS.  The WINGS program will sunset on December 31, 2006, but until that time, airmen who accomplish the additional training requirements with an authorized instructor can qualify for a phase of WINGS.  Pilots who successfully accomplish a phase of WINGS, need not complete a flight review in-accordance-with 61.56(e).
