South Florida UAS enthusiast and professionals:
Fleet Week Miami, May 5-12, 2024.
The United States Navy, Marines and Coast Guard are putting together an exciting week for the residents and visitors of Miami-Dade County.
UAS operators are being asked to remain extra vigilant for other aircraft during this time. Fleet Week organizers have many planned activities that will include numerous military flyovers, equipment demonstrations and static displays throughout the area. UAS must always give way to manned aircraft in operation.
NOTAM 3/6405 https://tfr.faa.gov/save_pages/detail_3_6405.html will also be applicable for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) operations within the vicinity of any United States Navy vessel. This requires UAS to maintain a minimum of a 3000’ lateral separation and 1000’ vertical separation in additional to the other 14 CFR requirements.
Please do not rely on UAS manufacturer airspace information as it may not be up to date. Remember to use an Approved Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) provider, this information is updated in real time.
